AjArtis3 began in 2017 as a small classroom. We opened an online shop so our daughter Maira and my wife Sofia could learn how selling online really works. We taught them a few nights a week, and nobody was in a hurry to sell anything.

Then Covid came. Online schooling wasn’t working for Maira, who was 15 at the time, so the shop became her real-life classroom. She learned to talk to customers, pack orders and run live sales, and the people who joined her live sessions welcomed her like a younger sister. Our customers became the AjArtis3 family.

The name is simple. “AJ” is our family’s initials plus “Artistry”, and the “3” makes it ours alone on the web.

Why so many beautiful fabrics?

Sofia is a passionate fashion designer. She made and sold wedding dresses even before we married, and for decades she has worked only with artistic, collectible-type textiles that she loves. Fabric sellers and manufacturers know her by name, because they valued her honest feedback on the fabrics she used.

When AjArtis3 started, she called them for ideas and support. Many agreed to sell her their manufacturing leftovers in bulk, and her decades of experience let her pick out the gems. That’s why you’ll find fabrics here that you won’t easily find elsewhere.

Why we do it

We do this out of passion. We’re happiest when you’re happy, and the rizq comes after, in its own time.

AjArtis3 is ultimately for Maira. Everything here is hers, and we’re simply walking beside her, guiding and teaching her to run all of it, so that she can build a life from it when we’re no longer around.
